Solo exhibition · Andrzej W. Grzonka
2024
Marszałkowska 18, Warsaw
KOLEKT curated “Elements of the Unseen”, a solo exhibition of works by Andrzej W. Grzonka, held from 18 to 26 October 2024 at Marszałkowska 18 in Warsaw. The collection spans multiple phases of his career, each exploring abstract and emotional landscapes, a hallmark of his artistic journey.
In Elements of the Unseen, Grzonka delves into themes of motion and emotion, both human and animal, capturing subtle shades of sorrow, joy and longing. His abstract expressionist approach goes beyond the literal, creating a contemplative space where viewers can engage emotionally and interpretively with the art. The exhibition celebrates both the visible and the invisible: the tangible beauty of nature and the internal, emotional terrains that shape our daily lives.
Born in 1957 and educated at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, Grzonka draws inspiration from the landscapes of his native Masuria. His work marries elements of expressionism and abstraction; while grounded in natural imagery, his depictions of skies, forests and lakes transcend direct representation. Through colour, texture and form, he transforms these landscapes into abstracted reflections on nature, offering an invitation to experience the beauty of what lies beyond the visible.
